Day 1: Arrive in Casablanca - Welcome to Morocco
Day 1: Arrive in Casablanca - Welcome to Morocco
Upon arrival in Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco, you will be met by your driver and taken to your Casablanca hotel, where you will check in and relax for the afternoon. If you arrive early in the day, you will have a guided tour of the seaside Hassan II mosque; the world's third-largest mosque and has the tallest minaret in the world (210m high). It is one of the fewest mosques that non-Muslims are allowed to enter. Casablanca is home to one of the largest Jewish Communities in Morocco which includes the synagogue Beth-El. You could have an optional visit to the Museum of Moroccan Judaism of Casablanca (not open on Saturday and by appointment only on Sunday). Overnight includes bed and breakfast.
Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat (one hour drive)

After breakfast, you will leave Casablanca and travel on towards Rabat, the capital city and residence of the King. Here, you will visit the Royal Palace, the Hassan Tower which is Rabat's most famous landmark. It was built by Sultan Yacoub El-Mansour who died before it was finished. He intended a 60m-tall minaret, but the tower was abandoned at 44 m. Otherwise, it would have been the second largest mosque of its time, after Samarra in Iraq. We will also visit the marble Mausoleum of Mohamed V; built in traditional Moroccan style. Its decoration gives off an air of tranquility. You also have an optional visit to the Jewish cemetery in the nearby town of Sale. This is where Rabbi Hayyim Ben Moses Attar was born. Overnight includes bed and breakfast.
Day 3: Rabat - Volubilis - Meknes - Fes (3 hours drive)

After breakfast, you will set off for Fes! You will have a stop at the 2000 years old Roman City of Volubilis with its beautiful Mosaics dating back to 3rd century BC. Lunch will be taken in Meknes, one of Morocco’s Imperial cities. Meknes contains 11 synagogues with 8 still in use. You will find the evidence of Jewish heritage by the Hebraic epitaphs dating from the Christian era as well as Greek inscriptions that still appear in local Synagogues and a place of pilgrimage where the tomb of Rabbi’ David Benmidan is located. You will visit the famous Bab Mansour, Granaries and stables of Moulay Ismael. In the evening, you will finish the drive to Fes. Overnight in Riad Fes includes bed and breakfast.

After breakfast, you will begin your guided tour of the medina, one of the world’s largest walled cities. You will explore the narrow streets lined with fresh fruit, mounds of spices, intricately woven Berber carpets and many other art objects of Morocco. The King’s Palace, the Jewish Mellah, a Jewish cemetery, the Ibn Danan Synagogue, the tanneries, and potters are just a few places you will experience. You will also see a plaque showing where the house of the famous Jewish philosopher Moses Ben Maimon was. For lunch, you will eat in a traditional restaurant in the heart of the medina. After lunch, you will complete the tour and return to your Riad including bed and breakfast.
Day 5: Free Day in Fes - Optional Day Trip to Sefrou
Day 5: Free Day in Fes - Optional Day Trip to Sefrou
This will be a free day to explore and relax! You might like to try a cooking class or visit the hammam, a traditional spa, for a massage!
If you would like to arrange a day trip, you might be interested in an excursion to the town of Sefrou, which once was home to one of the largest Jewish populations in Morocco. If you are interested in an activity while in Sefrou, you may like to visit Cherry Buttons, where you can learn about embroidery and try your hand at making a djellaba button.

Day 6: Fes to Marrakech
Day 6: Fes to Marrakech
After an early breakfast, you will depart for Marrakech. The beautiful drive will take you up into the Middle Atlas Mountains and along the base of the High Atlas Mountains.
Once in Marrakech, you will check into your riad and then head off to the Jemaa el-Fna, the center square of the medina! Coming alive at night with the local storytellers, entertainers, and mouth-watering barbeque pits, the square is well worth a visit. A quiet cup of tea on the terrace of an adjacent café provides a spectacular aerial view of the bustling square.

Day 7: Explore Marrakech with a Local Guide

After breakfast in the riad , you can start exploring Marrakech “the red city of Morocco”. Your guide will ensure that you see the most important places of historical and cultural interest, including the Saadien tombs; the Palaces of El Bahia and El Badi; and the Ben Youssef Coranique School. Lunch at a restaurant near the square, then in the afternoon visit the gardens at Majorelle; Menara and the Koutoubia tower. as we will see the Synagougue Lazama and see the Mellah with the Jewish Cimetary, After dinner you will have the opportunity to walk around the ‘Square Jemaa El Fna’ full with magicians, story tellers, snake charmers and food sellers. Overnight accommodation your Riad. Bed and breakfast included.
Day 8: Free Day in Marrakech
Day 8: Free Day in Marrakech
After breakfast, you will enjoy a free day in Marrakech to explore the city. Again, this is a great opportunity to take a cooking class, or perhaps try one of the lovely spas of the city! You may also be interested in visiting the gardens of Marrakech. Overnight includes bed and breakfast.
Day 9: Marrakech to Essaouira
Day 9: Marrakech to Essaouira
After breakfast, you will set off to the coastal city of Essaouira, a picturesque fishing town, lying on the southwest coast of Morocco. With an exquisite beach to the south, Essaouira has become one of Morocco’s most popular coastal towns. Many of the country's wood carvers and artists make Essaouira their home. You will have an opportunity to visit the Jewish Cemetery, the Slat Lkahal Synagogue, the mellah (Jewish Quarter) which includes the grave of Rabbi Haim Pinto, whose home and synagogue are pilgrimage sites where people visit annually. Overnight in your riad includes bed and breakfast.
Day 10: Essaouira to Casablanca
Day 10: Essaouira to Casablanca
Your last day of travel will take you back to Casablanca. You will leave Essaouira for Casablanca. If you would like, you can stop at El Jadida where you will be able to visit the citadel and see the underground cistern. You will then continue on to Casablanca, where you will spend your last night in the country. Overnight in a hotel in Casablanca.
Day 11: Departure

After breakfast and at your convenience, your driver will escort you to the airport for departure. Safe travels!
